Versatile midfielder pens deal at Revive Sports Management

Versatile midfielder Brian Emilio Okello is the latest player to join the leading sporting agency in Kenya, Revive Sports Management.

Okello primarily plays as a defensive midfielder but also thrives in advanced positions in midfield, underscoring his versatility, a key attribute in modern footballers.

The 18-year-old has been on top of his game his debut season in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) with Ulinzi Stars, featuring in 25 rounds of the 32 played so far in the 2024-2025 season.

The solid performances, with the four-time Kenyan champions, earned him a place in Rising Stars team that represented Kenya in the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Egypt, where he made his tournament debut in the second Group B match against Tunisia.

Born and raised in the football-mad Homa Bay County in September 2006, Okelo fell for the game when he was a pupil at the Good Samaritan Primary School in Migori.

His ability to anchor the midfield during Primary School Games earned him a scholarship to St. Anthony’s Boys High School in Kitale, an institution known for molding football talents.

Renowned academies and clubs were all in the race for his signature after clearing his secondary school studies, with National Super League side Migori Youth ultimately securing his services.

Okello later decamped to the coast-based second-tier club Mombasa Elite before penning a deal with Panthers Academy.

Ulinzi, who had been keeping a close eye on his progress since his days at St. Anthony’s, secured his signature in August last year.

Revive Sports Management Chief Executive Officer Feisal Osman described Okello as a modern defensive midfielder, who possesses all necessary attributes to make it to professional football.

” We are delighted to have Okello on board. He is disciplined on and off the pitch, works hard and has something special in him as far as modern football is concerned. For a young player to be playing regularly, in a such a crucial position in his first season, at the top level and in a big club shows that he is truly talented,” said Osman, who is a licensed FIFA agent.
